Playback and Recording Options in MatchMySound

MatchMySound offers a variety of playback and recording settings to enhance your learning and practice experience. Here’s how to access these settings and what each option does.


Accessing Playback and Recording Options

  • Open any piece of content in your MatchMySound account.
  • Click on Options in the toolbar to find these settings.

Playback Options

  1. Demo Audio

    • Plays back the notation displayed on your screen.
    • Typically, this is the part you are learning.
  2. Backing Track

    • When available, this is a full-band mix without your instrument.
    • Great for practicing along with accompaniment.
  3. Click Track

    • A metronome-style track set to the tempo of the piece or exercise.
    • No music plays, just the click sound to help you stay on beat.

Recording Options

  1. Follow Me

    • Lets you play at your own pace.
    • The cursor waits for you to play the correct notes and follows along as you progress.
    • If you miss a note, the program pauses until you get it right.
  2. Click Track

    • Plays a click track at the set tempo while you record.
    • Tip: Use headphones for the best results.
  3. Backing Track

    • When available, this provides a full-band mix (without your instrument) to play along with while recording.
    • Tip: Use headphones to ensure only your performance is recorded.
  4. Demo Audio

    • Plays the notation on your screen as you record.
    • Tip: Use headphones for optimal sound quality and to avoid interference.

Additional Settings

  • Count-In Feature

    • By default, there is a built-in two-measure count-in for playback.
    • To turn this off:
      1. Go to My Account > Application Settings.
      2. Uncheck the box for "Count-in on playback."
      3. Click Save to apply changes.

With these options, you can customize your practice and recording experience to suit your needs. Experiment with different settings to find what works best for you!
